Dual/Stereo Ring Modulator

AGRIPPA is the world’s first stereo “ring modulator” named after the German philosopher Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa von Nettesheim (1486 –1535). It goes about ring modulating in a different manner altogether, using a CMOS infrastructure to create new and harsher sounds. There is no blend or mix knob as it was designed it to be loud and abrasive. A COARSE CV pot regulates the harshness of the module. It can of course also be used alongside an external mixer to blend the wet and dry to create more subtle results.

Operation of this device is straight forward. Input 1 is normalised to input 2 so you can connect a mono signal and have stereo out (or why not a stereo signal into both channels). The CV input features an attenuator for the incoming signal. With nothing plugged into CV the pot works as COARSE, changing the sound manually (the led works backwards in this mode). The LED pretty much shows what is going on with this input and how the sound changes. The CV input uses an unusual approach utilising an Infrared optocoupler and since infrared is super fast this input gives great results with audio or audio rate signals.
