ES01 - Random Voltage Generator

The ES01 is based on the 1973 RANDOM SOURCE module which itself was literally a combination of the NOISE SOURCE and the SMOOTH & STEPPED GENERATOR boards internally linked to form the RANDOM SOURCE.
The ES01, however, is a brand new re-design of the original RANDOM SOURCE.

The ES01 produces random voltages which vary smoothly or in a step-wise manner. Random timimg pulses are also available form the [TIMING] output.

The rate of change of all outputs is voltage controllable over a wide range.

It is quite feasible to patch an ES05 and ES15 to achieve the same results :-

• Path the S&H SOURCE output of the ES05 to the IN jack of the STEPPED section of the ES15
• Path the -/+ output to the SAMPLE input AND the IN jack of the SMOOTH section
• The VC jack of the SMOOTH section becomse the RVG VC IN along with its associated attenuator control
• The RATE control of the SMOOTH section becomes the RVG RATE control
• The 0/+ output of the COUPLER becomes the RVG PULSE output
• THe RATE and VC LEVEL controls of the STEPPED section should be set to minimum
