Performance Sequencer

Floating Knobs is proud to annouce their first module : Cuisine, a 12 tracks sequencer designed following the modular spirit : live performance and flexibility.

Cuisine is a 12 tracks modular and MIDI sequencer packed with features to quickly create variations in your patterns and make them evolve endlessly while keeping things simple enough for a one handed operation.

Inputs and Outputs:

• 4 CV (Control Voltage) outputs ranging from 0 to 8V.
• 8 gates/triggers outputs with a voltage range of 0 to 5V.
• 4 gates inputs.
• MIDI TRS input and output.
• USB-C port for power and firmware updates.

Tracks:

• 12 tracks with three different modes available: Note, Drum, or Modulation.
• Each track can have an independent size of up to 64 steps.
• Individual track clock division settings.
• 12 patterns per track and 16 banks for storing patterns.

Musical Features:

• User-customizable scale that can be deactivated independently on each track.
• Main transpose feature for easy chord progression within the selected scale.
• Override/Performance mode for performing a track as a sequenced arpeggiator.
• Individual gate length control per step, as well as a track-specific gate length relative to the next note (if track gate length = 100%, then all notes are linked; if 99%, then all notes will trigger).
• Euclidean rhythm generator for generating complex rhythmic patterns.
• Velocity control, including track's main base velocity and track's main accent velocity for more expressive sequencing.
• Drum track with full-range velocity per step.
• Playmode options, which can be regular or gate.

Versatile Usage:

• Can be used as a stand-alone unit or integrated into a Eurorack modular system.
• Intuitive operations such as Copy, Paste, and Clear.
• Quick save and load functions for selected tracks.
• The ability to change patterns for the current track or all tracks simultaneously.
• Designed for one-handed operation.

Input and Output Flexibility:

• All inputs and outputs are freely assignable to one or more tracks.
• Gate inputs can be used for the main clock input, individual clock input, reset, or play functions.

Hardware:

• 38HP.
• Endless potentiometer to keep the silky smooth feeling of a regular potentiometer.
• The hardware is built around an Atmega 4809 microcontroller (think Arduino Nano Every).
• The open-source nature of the hardware allows adventurous users to develop their own firmware.
