Noise to Brain Adapter
Noise To Brain Adapter (NTBA) is a multi-functional oscillator. It's not meant to be a high-end VCO, but it's something like a swiss army knife. You have a VCO with LFOs for PWM, noise-generator,Chiptune and interesting Wavecluster modes, FM-like modes that create a wide range of sound spectrum from melodic to percussive stuff, digital Noise modes, S/H-soundgenerator, Clockswitcher and Clockdivider, percussive trigger clusters, random triggers as modulation sources...
Our 'Noise To Brain Adapter' was planned as a chiptune synth specially for our diy workshops at the Electronic Beats festivals in 2015. Meanwhile it has grown and is available in two variations: 1) a standalone-version and 2) a eurorack-version. Hard- and software are different in both versions. The first one is housed in a classic snack box and is also suitable for DIY beginners, for the second one you need more skills and it has a nice alu-panel. The Standalone-version runs with a 9V battery, the Eurorack-version with +/-12V. After finishing the NTBA diy kit, the 1v/octave scale has to be adjusted.
Features (both versions):
12 different modes, gate & CV inputs (1V/oct),
2 outputs,
2 additional switches and different modes. (eurorack version only)
It features 12 modes, organised in 4 groups:
1) Square Wave OSC with PWM
2) Chiptune / FM
3) FM / Noise
4) Trigger for modulations & Clocking
Inputs: 1V/oct CV, Gate
Outs: Out 1, Out 2
Controls: Pitch, Parameter 1 & 2
Buttons: Sync/Reset, AC/DC to switch output
Papernoise did a nice cheat-card which makes it easier to get an overview over the functionality: http://www.papernoise.net/papernoise-cheatsheets/

Outside our workshops, it's available as a DIY kit for around 120€ via www.exploding-shed.com (Europe) or www.modularaddict.com (USA).
