Dual window comparator
2Win consists of two voltage-controlled window comparators. This type of circuit is ideal for chopping up audio material or control voltages into pulse waves. – For example, you can extract a whole series of pulses from one cycle of a sine wave. The results are useable for weird PWM effects or rhythmic figures. Envelopes with a re-trigger input can be extended with a loop function. Countless other areas of application are possible as well, of course.
The concept of a window comparator is simple: Two input signals are compared. If the difference is smaller than the window size set by the user, the module activates the gate output and generates a pulse wave. 2Win offers two such comparators. The window sizes can be influenced manually and via CV inputs with attenuators. The first input of the upper comparator is normalized to the first input of the instance below. – Including signal inversion. The second input of both comparators is normalized to a fixed voltage source. A jumper allows you to choose between 2.5 V and 5 V.
