Joystick Math module
Two inputs (named X and Y like axes but can be used for any two CV or audio signals, not for J-010 Joystick only).
Outputs (for example at X=1V and Y=-2V):
X+Y addition (on this output will be -1V) = mixer
-X-Y inverted addition (+1V) = inverted mixer
X-Y subtraction (+3V) = mixer with Y inverted
Y-X subtraction (-3V) = mixer with X inverted
+Y to +Y absolute value from Y input at positive input voltage only (at example is Y negative so 0V) = positive rectifier
-Y to +Y absolute value from Y input at negative input voltage only (+2V) = negative rectifier and invertor
With this „splitter“ function you can drive for example VCF frequency at upper joystick position and LFO frequency at lower joystick position (for example), both with positive CV outs.
Some explanation about +Y to +Y and -Y to +Y outputs:
1. positive voltage on Y input appears on „+Y to +Y“ output while „-Y to +Y“ output remains at zero Volts
2. negative voltage on Y input appears inverted (positive) on „-Y to +Y“ output while „+Y to +Y“ output remains at zero Volts
This splitting allows two functions control by one axis, one for positive joystick movement and second for negative movement, on both outputs from 0V to positive voltage.
This can be used for any input voltage (for example splitting sine to two ouptuts=two half-waves, both outputs positive)
For thoughtfuls:
If you´ll feed an input signal into Y input (forget joystick, just an signal for example sine), you can feed output form an „Y to Y“ to X input.
You´ll get these waves (if use +Y to +Y output to X input):
X+Y output: doubled first halfwave (positive) and second (negative) halfwave same as input
X-Y out: first halfwave zero, second halwave negative
and other sums and subtractions for next outputs – some kind of waveshaper as bonus…
