Small 4HP utility
Bbg is a small multitool module useful in almost any scenario. It works by adding and/or subtracting inputs to produce desired output. Outputs can be divided into 3 sections: „add”, „subtract” and „complex”. There’re many possible use cases, few of which are listed below:
*active multiple & inversion – with one input connected module outputs 7 signals, 6/5/4 of them being active mults and 1/2/3 being inversions (depending on selected input)
*CV mangling – By using 3 different, independent CV sources for eg. LFO, envelope and sequencer user get 9 different, yet coherent modulation signals to use within patch. Especially useful for modulating tracking effects, like filters after VCOs
*complex envelopes – simple way to change your old boring ADSR envelope into complex modulation source. Connect 2 or 3 different envelopes at the inputs an use mixed output for more complex shapes. Especially useful for morphing textures in sounds.
*trigger/gate logic – BBG can be used to marge trigger or gate signals, create accents in sound or inhibit gate via other gate
*sign & signal comparing – connecting one output back to input we switch into compare mode. Output then becomes high/low gate depending which of the other 2 inputs is bigger. With just one input, the other is normalized to zero allowing easy sign detection.
*cool, CV blinking LEDs
*and much, much more – we could write long about all cases we use BBG for, heck, even we discover them from time. It’s best to just experiment and learn along.
Most importantly state of all outputs is shown by LEDs nearby therefore user can intuitively grasp what’s happening.
