4HP Gate to Trigger & Trigger to Gate Converter
The Gate Trigger Converter (GTC) is a 4HP utility module designed to allow you to convert Gate signals into Triggers and Trigger signals into Gates. GTC features a pair of Gate and Trigger inputs at the top of the unit, with the resultant signals outputted at the bottom.
When a Gate signal is detected at GTCs "Gate" input, a Trigger with be outputted on the rising and falling edges of the Gate, via the "Rising" and "Falling" outputs respectively. When patching a TRS cable into "Falling" output, a mix of both the rising and falling edge triggers are outputted via the Ring.
When a Trigger is detected on the "Trigger" input, GTC will generate 2 gate signals which are outputted via the "Latch" and "Gate" output. "Latch" is used to generate a signal, which will latch high or low when a trigger is detected (acting the same similar to the MQM, MQSM and TLS). A gate signal, with a user defined length is outputted via the "Gate" output. The length of this gate is determined through the "Length" potentiometer and accompanying switch, which can be used to select a short or long signal, that can be as long as 5.6 seconds. If you patch a TRS cable into "Gate" output, a 0V~5V signal that corresponds to the position of the "Length" potentiometer will be outputted on the ring.
GTC also features a button which is located beneath the Gate Length switch. This button allows you to manually create each of the outputted signals. Due to a modified version of FWE's Gate/Trigger detection firmware, the same that is found on the MQM, MQSM and TLS, GTC is capable of detecting the difference between the button being short and long pressed, and changes the behaviour of the "Latch" output based on hold long the button is pressed. When short pressed, the output will act as expected. When long pressed, "Latch" will remain active for the duration that the button is held.
