Analogue Flanger Modul with BBD
As the name suggests, an analog bucket chain storage (BBD = Bucket Brigade Delay) is used. For the modulation of the time deceleration, an LFO with 7 different waveforms is available from classic sine to triangle, stair functions to random sample & hold-like waveforms. Modulation frequency and depth can be modulated via CV inputs. With the Enhance function, the higher frequency components of the delayed signal are accentuated.
Another feature is the start/stop function of the flanger (via logic signal or button): The flanger can be slowly raised and stopped, similar to a Leslie cabinet. The startup time is adjustable.
In contrast to many DIY projects, relatively complex Bessel filters of the 5th order are used as aliasing filters before and after the BBD chip, which have an optimal impulse behavior.
Similar filters are also used in the legendary Roland SSD320. As a result, the "flanged" signal still sounds very transparent.
