Dual OTA-based linear VCA with panning
This module is a skinny dual VCA. It uses NJM13700 OTA IC chip to do voltage control amplification. This IC chip is a classic and found in vintage Roland, Moog, Yamaha, etc. The IC chip on the simple dual VCA is a modern SMT equivalent made in Japan.
Each VCA has it's own audio input level knob, and VCA adjust knob. The audio input has some gain to it, which allows some over drive. There is also a dedicated CV knob to adjust voltage control level.
The 'LFO' jack is where you can patch an LFO to make the simple dual VCA do stereo panning. There are two LED's on the top to indicate left and right rotary action.
What is the difference between this VCA and the blue lantern stereoscopic VCA?
The difference is in the coloring. This OTA based VCA colors the sound when over driven. The sound is very vintage on this VCA. On the stereoscopic VCA, the sound is very precise. If you love the roland jupiter sound, this VCA is for you.
