I'm the original owner, crazy cool oscillator. ___________Proteo has not a precise sound on its own, it can be whatever you want as it creates waveforms by acquiring external signals in real time. The name, indeed, comes from the ancient Greek mythology, since Proteo was a shapeshifter that can assume whatever shapes he prefers.Due to its nature, the tonal palette it’s hard to be described since every signal at the inputs will create really different sounds on it's own. A sort of digital tape recorder acquires in real time incoming voltages, drawing distinct waveforms for each side like a seismograph. Changing the acquisition time will drastically affect the resulted output even with the same sources at the inputs. Exploring the interaction between Proteo, the sources and the acquisition time will force you to change your mind on how sounds can be generated. In Proteo, indeed, waveforms are not a static digital representation of a sound, time is a fundamental factor. If not locked, the sound will continue to organically evolve as the external sampling goes on - this is something really different from the usual wavetable morph control. Waveforms cannot be saved, Proteo it's not meant to be a set and forget collector of wavetables.
