Random*Source Serge Modular Resonant Equalizer in eurorack format custom built with New Old Stock (never used) Vintage Tropical Fish + Silver Mica Military Capacitors.
The special thing about the resonant eq is that each frequency band uses a pair of capcitors and each band has a different capacitor value.
We collaborated with knobknobs to create a knob for each frequency band that represents the capacitor on the back of the instrument,.
Tropical Fish caps were used in many legendendary 70s electronics and the Mica capacitors were used in a lot of old radoio and industrial operations. Tropical Fish get their name from the stripes which represent the capacitor value in scientific language. Now the language is transfered to the front of the panel with the hand made knobs from knobknobs.
Mica Capacitors are made from a naturaly occuring mineral in metamorphic rocks and solidified lava. The sound of the earth.
