Nonlinear Circuits Sandy Freckle features three transistor-based multivibrators running at different frequencies, loosely connected by low-value resistors to influence each other, resulting in unpredictable, non-repeating sounds. The Sandy Freckle functions as a random pulse/burst generator. This version includes pots to adjust the frequencies of each section and an input for turning the sound on and off, which can be fed gates or envelopes for a gradual onset and tail. You can experiment with different capacitor values to achieve various effects, from audible frequencies to interesting pulses that ping filters and phase-shifters. Additionally, feeding it audio rate signals transforms it into a waveshaper/distortion module. The module has been well maintained, with minimal signs of use and is fully operational.
