I’m parting with my Mutable Instruments Streams, a 12HP Eurorack dual dynamics gate that’s a Swiss Army knife for shaping and controlling audio and CV signals. As the original owner, I’ve used it very sparingly, so it’s in top condition. Use it as an envelope generator, where the EXCITE input triggers an AD or AR envelope to shape gain and filter cutoff—perfect for turning raw oscillators or noise into rich, full sounds. Switch to the vactrol curve generator mode for a digital emulation of a resistive opto-isolator, with tweakable response times for CV processing or plucked, trigger-driven effects. The amplitude and frequency content follower tracks the EXCITE signal’s envelope and cutoff, applying it to the VCFA input for dynamic modulation. Or engage the compressor/limiter mode, using the VCA to tame peaks, boost levels with soft-limiting, or even sidechain via EXCITE.
