Fricko ProPulse Waveshaper Mixer - generates sliding pulses
The pulse waveshapes of the ARP ProSolist were previously undecyphered and unobtainable. By reverse-engineering the supersonic logic gates, we have been able to come up with an all-analog "sliding window comparator" circuit that provides the pulse waves of the ARP and more of the same family.
Importantly, this sliding pulse is packaged with several other features designed to allow the characteristic Pro-Soloist architecture, where two different wavesforms of an oscillator pass through differen filters in parallel and are recombined at the VCA. This gives the user a headstart in their patches and saves rack-space: constant-power pulses mimic the pulse boost circuit, the input sawtooth has a "through" socket to allow easy chaining, and there is a mix output with a simple fixed high-pass filter as used in some Pro-Soloist presets.
The module has a calibration blinkenlight to cope with the variation in Eurorack VCO levels.
If the pulse waveshaping is not engaged, then the unit acts as a buffer, with a higher-level output and a lower-level output. If two signals are mixed as the input, various distortion effects are possible.
