Digital Spring Reverb Emulator, Earthquaker Ghost Echo Clone using Belton Brick
All the fun of a vintage spring reverb in a neat little package. No, it isn't spring reverb, but it does a very good job of sounding like one.
The Accutronics BTDR-2 reverb brick and the PT2399 delay chip are a match made in aural heaven, with the delay chip offering a short pre-verb attack on the wet signal. This "Attack" control can give slap-back type effects or just fill out the sound depending on how you play. It certainly adds a whole new element to the mix.
The "Dwell" pot adjusts the length of the decay, as well as how full-sounding it is. This is very subtle on the original pedal, so this kit comes with the option of going bigger with it, offering a much more obvious range to this control.
"Depth" is the intensity of the reverb.
Overall, this is a very versatile 'verb. Pair it up with your choice of brick (add that to your basket here) for whatever kind of sound you're after. Original uses "Long" for some really spacey atmosphere, but it'll work ok with Short and Medium.
Board-mounted pots and brick make this a quick, simple build.
Please choose your knobs to suit the pot shaft you select in the options. The vertical-mount pots have round shafts, so require knobs that fit with a grub/set screw. Pots are very tightly spaced (17mm apart) so take that into consideration when choosing knobs.
Note: In stock configuration there is a slight volume drop when this circuit is engaged. It's just the way it is. Take it up with the designers of the original! We include an extra resistor with the kit to fix this.
