Description

Heavily modded Dano Fab Tone distortion. Let's see here... See that little extra hole there by the foot switch? It's a "Seeing Eye" type mod. There's an LED in there that lights up when signal is sent in (when you play). The more signal (the harder you play), the more and longer it lights up. The black knob on the left is a dead battery sim that starves the pedal of voltage, making for gnarly, gated, low headroom sounds. The pedal works great with a power supply, but that feature only works with a battery. The black knob on the right is a bias knob. Doesn't make much difference til you get pretty far right, when it gets gated, sputtery, woofy, and fuzzy. Now, the switch... In the left position, it's stock. The classic scooped, jar of angry bees Fab Tone. The middle and right positions both add mids and make the crunch way more amp-like, like a Plexi sound. There's a slight difference between the two, but I'll be buggered if I can quantify what it is with my old ears. The rest of the stock knobs work like they always did. Unfortunately no battery cover, which is common with these old monstrous Dano pedals. Doesn't change the fact that this thing sounds incredible and is super, super versatile with the mods.
