Up for sale, a circa 1980 Boss CS-1 Compressor Sustainer in excellent condition and in perfect working order. This pedal is 100% original and complete with a clean "Made in Japan" black foil label and desirable silver screw for the battery compartment, only seen on the earliest examples. The CS-1 is the first compact Boss compression pedal, offering a smooth tone, even response, and rugged durability. The controls are simple and intuitive, with a Level knob for volume and a Sustain knob to dictate the amount of compression applied. A Normal/Treble Mode toggle switch tailors the compression to affect the full signal or only the upper frequencies.Cosmetically, the pedal shows only a few tiny flecks and scuffs on the enclosure edges, retaining the original knob set and clean silkscreen graphics. The battery compartment shows no evidence of a serial number, which would have been inked in this era and above the stomp switch. The clean "Made in Japan" black foil label is present on the back.
