It creates a wave shape similar to a sawtooth wave, with lots of harmonics and overtones. I designed the circuit with bass guitar in mind, but it also works well with other full range instruments. It can be tuned for guitar speakers on request.BASS is a clean volume control routed through a low pass filter. The filter can be bypassed with the X-OVER switch. Sometimes it sounds nice to bypass the filter when you have other effects upstream in your signal chain. These days I voice the filter so that you can still use your tone knob when the filter is on.VOL is the volume of the fuzz signal. The idea is to blend your clean low end with the harmonically exciting midrange and treble from the fuzz circuit.MID and TREBLE shape the tone of the fuzz signal. YOUR varies the amount of harmonic content in the fuzz signal.GAIN - my favorite knob. Turn it all the way down to add a bit of hair to your signal. This sounds kind of like an old tube amp. GAIN settings below 12 o'clock have a dynamic effect where you can hear the tonality of the note change as it decays. If you palm mute, you can really bring out the synth-like character of the fuzz at these lower GAIN settings. Above 12 o'clock, a brick wall of fuzz.DOOM 2 combines well with other effects. Octave. Filter. Chorus. Try an overdrive upstream in the signal chain to add some grit to the BASS signal path. This isn't a vintage fuzz circuit, and it doesn't suffer from the limitations of those circuits. Try it anywhere, with anything. POWER: 9V DC // 33mA minimum.
