Up for sale is an extremely rare 1975 “Bud Box” MXR Distortion + From MXR’s first era of pedals, this lil fella was hand wired, spray printed, screen printed and assembled in a Rochester New York basement--likely sold to a guitar player or music shop from the trunk of a car.Containing only a handful of components, this is the margherita pizza of distortion circuits—the perfectly simple recipe against which all others are judged. At the heart of this pedal’s legendary tone is a National Semiconductor LM741CN Op Amp and two 1N270 Germanium Diodes. This unit is in very good condition for its age, sounds perfect, and has been meticulously cleaned and tested to ensure that it'll sound great for another 50 years! Pots are dated the 24th week of 1975. Follow our Reverb shop for more rare vintage MXR pedals!
