About the Unicorn Account

Description

The first delay pedal from Boss, not only one of the first solid state delay pedals ever, but also one of the greatest of all time. Built in 1978 and featuring a RETICON CCD delay chip. Sweet and dark delay especially effective for a smooth slapback, or washy self-oscillation effects that quickly degrade into chaos. Some wear from its nearly 50 years: many chips in finish, and tops of two knobs are missing, but otherwise no significant defects. Perfectly functional with no issues. 117V for US power. Newly professionally serviced:- Fully calibrated to factory specs — this is not a quick or easy process, but it means this unit sounds exactly the way it’s meant to, like it did fresh out of the factory. No other DM-1 units available on Reverb have gone through this tedious calibration process as of the date of this listing, and likely very few units anywhere at all have since their original production. - Jacks, pots, and switches cleaned and lubed as needed- Critical, weak, worn, and heavy-stress solder joints reflowed (jacks, pots, etc.) - Common points of failure inspected and cleared Unit will be professionally packed for quick, fully-insured shipping with same or second business day dispatch.
