Description

Mid-‘00s Deluxe Memory Man with 3 Analogman mods: -Delay time increase-Input impedance increase-Gain reductionClean and in working order. This version of the DMM has EC_2002_REV_E printed on the circuit board and has 2 MN3005 BBD chips installed. 24V external power supply included, no box. Below are the descriptions of the mods from Analogman’s site:Delay time increase: “The DMM does not usually come with the delay time as long as it should be. We can tweak the deluxe memory man to about 500mS or so if you need just a bit more than the stock one has (our delay time slight tweak). But the higher delay times (over 400mS or so) may have a slightly metallic, ring modulated sound and might sound funny if you play clean. Just turn the delay time down a little if it starts getting too weird, it will still sound the same at the stock delay time as before (you don't lose anything with the extra time).”Input impedance increase: “The DMM, when on, has a slightly dull tone on the dry sound due to a low input impedance. That is like putting a volume pot on your guitar that is too low of a value. We can tweak the input impedance for a clearer tone. This mod helps both the WET and DRY tone when the pedal is ON. Makes no difference when off (true bypass). It is a trimpot so you can adjust it if needed. If you run your guitar directly into the DMM you can really hear the dullness, set the mix knob to full dry (no delay) and turn the pedal on and off to hear the change in dry tone. If you have buffers or other pedals turned on before the DMM, the low impedance of the DMM may not be hurting your tone much.”Gain reduction: “We can reduce the gain for less distortion on the DMM if you are having overloading problems due to hitting it with a hot signal. The level knob on the DMM can set the volume so the normal sound is the same with the pedal ON and OFF. But on the stock pedal, setting it like that often causes distortion. After our gain tweak, you won't have the distortion at the unity gain setting. There is a GAIN trimpot on this tweak, if you turn it down too much you may lose the ability to self-oscillate. But at our marked setting the gain is reduced enough to sound good and still allows self-oscillating repeats. You can turn it all the way up to get back to the stock gain.”
