The first phaser, invented by Oberheim to emulate a Leslie rotating speaker cabinet. But it ended up doing so much more, as the addition of a feedback circuit gives the sound a lush tonal feel as well as a more interesting phasing pulse. This did not work when I got it, but it was nothing drastic. I replaced the three power filtering caps which were well faded (though not yet dead), but the primary cause was a previous owner had tried to adjust the trimmers in there and had lost the effect. Some careful calibration ensued and now this sounds wonderful. Also needed a replacement for the AC plug. Its in great shape. Remember your mother's warning when you were younger: If you diddle with your trimpots you'll go blind.
