Up for sale, a 1990s Danelectro Pastrami Overdrive in near-mint condition and in perfect working order. Released in 1997 as part of Danelectro’s “Food” Series of pedals, this compact, colorful distortion is a no-frills, streamlined offering able to fit on just about any board. This Pastrami is a hard clipping op amp distortion, not dissimilar to the ProCo RAT, but is somewhat unique for having another gain stage after the hard clipping diodes. Tonally, the Pastrami is at its best when fully cranked up, yielding a blistering, lo-fi buzzsaw distortion that has tons of bite and character.
This unit is in great shape, with just a handful of faint scratches on the enclosure. The GuitarPlayer magazine Pick Award sticker is intact, and the silver knobs and graphics are very clean.
