Up for sale, a 1986 Boss DS-1 Distortion in excellent condition and in perfect working order. Introduced in 1978, Boss’s first distortion pedal defined a bold new sound, delivering hard-edged attack and smooth sustain that’s been a staple of players for generations. This Japanese-made black label iteration has a notably thicker, smoother, and more dynamic tone than later versions.
There are just a handful of minor marks on the enclosure, with clean black silkscreen graphics and the original trio of knobs. The black foil “Made in Japan” label is present on the baseplate, and the serialized label in the battery compartment dates production to November, 1986.
