VERSION 3 retains some of the best parts, with a few tweaks that make it even more wonderfully flexible and easy to use. The V3 is a recognized "force" in the high-gain pedal category. It is a pedal that easily and reliably breathes the tone of the JCM800.
The Angry Charlie has five controls: VOLUME, DRIVE, BASS, MIDS, and TREBLE. The VOLUME control works like a normal master volume on an amp. Simply turning it clockwise will increase the volume and counterclockwise will decrease it. The DRIVE control controls the amount of overall distortion/overdrive going into the signal path. Turning it clockwise will cause more distortion, and turning it counter-clockwise will reduce the amount of distortion. New in V3 are the addition of BASS, MIDS, and TREBLE controls. We decided it was time to incorporate a complete Marshall-style tone stack to faithfully replicate a Marshall amp. All three of these controls cut and boost the bandwidth and are relatively flat at the 12 o'clock position. The 1/4 jack on the right side is an input, and the output jack is on the left side.
