Here is an older version of the Suhr Riot which I had never seen before up until purchasing this one recently (in the last month or so). I decided to give it a go because it looked smaller / fitting for my board given it has a side jack for the power (usually these are top jack for power adapters) and I dug the finish as well. It's a fantastic sounding pedal that is very easy to get along with. There is a forgiving softness to how it breaks up making it very comfortable to play, but it is responsive to faster playing dynamics and not 'mushy' feeling. I have a Subdecay Stupid Box which is a very different distortion pedal, but when I crank that up all the way, it sounds like my favorite settings on this Riot pedal, so I'm letting it go. I believe this is intended to be a sort of hot rodded brown sound to run into a clean amp - or it could be used sort of like a foundation overdrive like catalinbread embraces - or you can just run it like a standard overdrive pedal earlier in your chain - it can clean up and be subtler for a somewhat traditional overdrive sound - but it's really all about that british distortion. The Toggle switch should change up the 'feel' in terms of compression and low end response, but I found the middle setting the most 'open' sounding. I can hear some 'voice' changes in the upper mids as well but I didn't find a massive difference and they all sounded 'good enough' to me!Awesome box of riffs here - looking for a new home. Marked very good condition due to a scratch on the front casing near the foot switch, and I think the 'i' missing near the voice toggle. Thanks for checking it out!
