Here for sale we have an Xotic Effects SP compressor guitar pedal. Founded as a one-man operation in California in 1998, Xotic began making basses with unique on-board electronics. After the success of their early products amongst musicians, the brand began to grow rapidly. Their 'EP Booster' pedal was introduced in 2009, and became a runaway success. This SP Compressor followed on from that success in 2012, taking full-featured professional electronics and packaging them into a mini-pedal chassis. Based on the legendary Ross compressor which was introduced around 1974. there are a plethora of compressor pedals available today which use the circuitry blueprint of the Ross thanks to its simple operation and warm, characterful tone. The controls are kept very simple, with just a volume & blend control offered on the front plate, as well as a mini switch which toggles between three different compression modes. Volume of course does what it says on the tin, allowing you to fine tune your signal level. The blend control mixes the dry and wet signals for ultimate control of your compression level. Dip switches inside the pedal are accessible by removing the backplate and allow you to switch between different attack speeds. Whilst compression is traditionally used with clean tones, the SP Compressor from Xotic works just as well with overdrive and distortion settings by tightening up the signal entering subsequent effects. The tone produced can be described as tight and clear, with a little added warmth and character from the Ross circuitry. A well-made and great sounding pedal that can surely fit on any pedal board. This pedal has been tested and is in full working order, demonstrating very good used condition. Velcro is attached to the bottom, with some sticker residue present to the base of the pedal. No power supply or box included.
