This is from the short-lived line of Boss bass pedals from the late 80's, early 90's. Each was minimally adapted from a popular Boss pedal of the time. This is a nearly exact copy of the Boss CE-2 Chorus. Besides the attractive cow-patty brown color, the only differences are the Effect Level control, which replaces a single resister, and then one minor change to a capacitor (C14, to be exact). I did a shootout between a blue CE-2 and brown CE-2 on my YouTube channel years ago, and was hard pressed to tell the difference. The MIJ versions of this pedal also sport the rare stovepipe hat style knobs, where were otherwise only seen on the short-lived DM-3 Delay. I did the 9v mod so this works perfectly with modern 9v jacks, and you can see the LED better. Get a CE-2 for a lot less than the blue ones go for these days.
