Dual function generator / triple CV processor
BAAS is a dual function generator + triple CV processor made for Buchla-format modular synthesizers.
Function generators:
Each function generator works pretty much as you would expect a function generator to work.
It can run in:
Cycle Mode:
Voltage cycles up and down at the rate according to its attack- and decay knob + cv.
End Of Cycle (EOC) is HIGHwhile the voltage is rising.
Gate Mode:
The voltage rises while TRIG is HIGH while (Above ~4.5V), and falls when it is below.
Single Shot Mode:
Voltages rises and falls once when voltage on TRIG goes HIGH.
EOC is LOW while the voltage is moving, and HIGH after the cycle.
You can engage an optional gate mode by moving the the dip switch on the back of the module to the up-position.
Switch 1 for the right channel and switch 2 for the left channel. In this mode the voltage will only rise and fall to the input level of the TRIG input, creating a voltage integrator / lag processor. In this mode, EOC will be HIGH when the voltage has settled to match the input, and LOW when it is chasing.
CV processor:
Each processor has a grey and a black input CV input.
Blacks are channels A/C/E, and grey are B/D/F.
The switch chooses if two channels should be multiplied or added together.
The knob works as an attenuverter + offset.
When the knob is at noon, the incoming CV is killed.
When turning the knob clockwise the knob works as an attenuator.
When turning counterclockwise, the incoming CV is inverted and attenuated
and an offset is added to keep the signal above 0V. (see chart on next page)
This also allows you to use a channel with no inputs as an offset.
Please note that turning the knob to its extreme positions doesn’t give exactly +1 or -1 gain, so quantized cv isn’t reproduced 100% accurately. Can handle CV up to 300hz.
