flight friendly case?

Hi folks,

As my modular journey continues, I am thinking about a mobile-friendly rig, particularly one that would also be flight friendly

IMO a flight friendly case might include:
-- a case designed for flights / shipping, and/or
-- a case that will fit well in a suitcase for flights / shipping, and/or
-- a case that fits inside a dedicated flight container

My ideal flight friendly Eurorack case would be:
-- significant HP: over 200HP and ideally over 300HP
-- not crazy heavy or a pain to handle / move / carry. I realize HP capacity, flight protection, and weight are likely tradeoffs

Any ideas / recommendations?

I'm thinking my Eurorack setup is going to become more central to my music, and I'd love to have my rig be a travel friendly instrument.

I have the m202 and it travels amazingly well.

Thanks @77or88, I had no idea those trogotronic cases existed! They look pretty badass and roadworthy.

Do you fly with your m202? If so do you pack it in something with more padding or take it as is? I cringe some at the thought of a fine instrument being handled by airport luggage handling.

I flew with it a couple time as a carry-on so I could be the one manhandling it. It was light enough and small enough to not be a problem.

Very carry-on-able, plus you get even MORE space than you'd specced (416 hp total...provided you don't get any modifications; CFL can make a lot of changes, including adding a tile row or two. And the power is NO JOKE...a total of 5600 mA on the +12, 1000 mA on the -12 (with the ability to take that to 2000 mA if needed) and 8000 mA on the +5!

Lugia, that looks like a super awesome modular travel case. I also like the cases from Nono Modular like the

but Nono cases are super expensive so I would go with lower cost options. I have also heard good things about Amalamod travel eurorack cases.

For now I still have my Doepfer 6u suitcase for travel that is empty after moving my modules to the monster cases.

Nono is super-expensive, you bet! When I looked at the listings there, they have some cases like the CFL ones...albeit for twice the price! Plus, with Nono, you don't have the ability to spec out custom builds like Case From Lake does, even though they use the same sort of Meanwell P/Ss that CFL can put in.

I don't see the point of the extra expense, frankly. And you can go to over 104 hp (up to 168), spec power output, add tile rows, and so on with CFL.
