RAS syndrome

Redundant superfluous needless words I learnt today.
But besides PWM mod theres also PWM on the module so it might modulate the modulator :)
solitud.de | YouTube | Soundcloud | Bandcamp
Sure, modules work in both ways.
You can even twist the whole rack for a new perspective to your system

Then I would take two oscillators, run them through something to combine the waveforms, and then have that CV signal going into the VCA.
The output of that something is probably an audio signal, no CV?
Where would I send the CV out from the sequencer to? To which oscillators 1v/oct input if there are two going into the VCA?
You can always mult the CV.
While I am not quite sure what you try to achieve you can always test those basic building blocks in the TrueGrid synth here on MG. I have setup a small system according how I think you might want to patch stuff.

There is a search option build type. Check if your setting says both

Possible power issue? Did you try to disconnect all other modules and just connect the Synth Box?

I second this. Optomix is a bit too special as a vanilla VCA ...

This is insane.

On the detail page of the module you should find a link Edit Module (top right).
For now I have unlisted the module.

If you put the envelope outputs of the Ultima Ratio into an audio mixer and feed in an audio rate square as clock in the UR behaves like a pretty ugly dual digital Oscillator/Waveshaper.
You can adjust the waveform to a small degree with the Envelopes Attack and Release knobs.
The knob for Clock Divider 2 will adjust the pitch of the second "oscillator", so you can set musical intervals.
E.g. ratio 1:12, boom, octaver ...

At least that's what they post on their website:

Three of those modules will overload a Doepfer 9U case.
We will read about that in the near future a lot ;)

Something like that?

HP stands for horizontal pitch.
It is the width of a module.

Good luck, I did a Slope Generator some time ago. I messed everything up possible but had the ambition to make it work. At the end it did
solitud.de | YouTube | Soundcloud | Bandcamp
I am still not sure where the benefit of multiple states is or what is overall different in comparison to just copy a rack?

Let me start by thanking @MarsFace for blazing fast shipping an excellent shaped TipTop Bd808.

Did you connect the Gate Out from the Qunexus to Gate on the Atlantis?
If that didn't work, did you try to connect Gate Out from the Qunexus to Trig on the Atlantis?
solitud.de | YouTube | Soundcloud | Bandcamp
Not sure if this would work in every way. Users tend to reposition modules when their systems change to fill up the gapes.
solitud.de | YouTube | Soundcloud | Bandcamp
Somehow you managed to combine Dark Knight cinematography with modular synths. Great!
solitud.de | YouTube | Soundcloud | Bandcamp
Looks marvelous! And those power busses are Doepfers?
solitud.de | YouTube | Soundcloud | Bandcamp
Sure, Echophone, somehow I missed that... Never used it, but might at some time..
solitud.de | YouTube | Soundcloud | Bandcamp
Cool Rack, is this custom made?
Also blank panels are never a wise investment ;)

And yes I'm a delay lover.
-- Tazio
Where is it? I have still to find an affordable stereo Euro digital delay myself.
Also maybe rethink your decision to not use a sequencer. In modular you can and should sequence not only notes but everything else too. The envelopes of your Maths, waves of the oscillator, etc.
Since you already have the Pressure Points, maybe a Brains would be a simple solution to do that.
Also what Exper says: clock source.
solitud.de | YouTube | Soundcloud | Bandcamp
The module images on ModularGrid are uploaded by users, so their rights are not cleared by manufacturers.
Since it is a great and free way of advertising manufacturers typically do not complain. But dependent of the context of your video if you want to be sure it may be good to ask them.

Can you recommend a low price mixer?
The Pittsburghs and Doepfers are o.k.
Can a mixer perform the same role as the Pittsburgh Outs?
Euroracks have a very hot output, but with a mixer or an attenuator or vca you can bring the levels down.
An output module like the Pittsburgh Outs is an attenuator and just adds an adapter to the bigger 6.3 mm jacks, additional headphone outputs and normalizes mono signals to stereo.
As said, it is nice to have but not mandatory.
solitud.de | YouTube | Soundcloud | Bandcamp
Rack looks not very balanced.
Two Maraca, a clap and one cowbell, you will definitely rule the brazilian electro scene with that :)
How do you trigger these without a drum sequencer?
Think about what you want to achieve. If you don't have a clue yet I recommend to focus on adding some missing basic building blocks, that would be:
Additionally a Clock Source and a Quantizer, MIDI if you need that.
Pittsburgh Outs is more a convenience module, not too necessary.
solitud.de | YouTube | Soundcloud | Bandcamp
Oh ... you're the 'Ultima Ratio Cascading Clock' guy! That's an awesome-looking module!
I looked at that one closely, but it seems to function best with an external clock. What do you use for a clock generator?
It works fine as a clock generator, you just loose the ability to control one of the two dividers in clock generator mode.
As an external clock you can nearly throw anything in it, a square wave from an oscillator works best.
I'm trying not to front-load too many obstacles to a successful start-up rack, which is why I'm trying to avoid too much DIY, but I did read through the build document, and it looked reasonable. Maybe not as simple as the Super Warp Generator, but pretty approachable.
Do you still have kits available?
-- kismert
I have a couple left. While the build is pretty easy basic knowledge in soldering can not hurt.
I plan to sell some of them next year as pre-build modules.

@solitud: I have had this debate with myself as well: why program all day for work, then come home and code for fun? I guess there are two (maybe not very good) reasons: 1) my interest in Arduino programming is high right now; 2) I don't expect to be making Music for quite a while (I'll be mostly irritating the wife/friends/dog, especially at the start).
I don't wanna talk you out of it, I am pretty much in the same boat and even developed a module based on Atmega myself.
Modular synth is a hobby that goes way beyond making music for me. The community chats and never ending optimizations of systems are an integral part of it.
You just have to prioritize at one point since time is sparse and you can not do everything.
So if you wanna do your own sequencer, at least make it kick ass.
solitud.de | YouTube | Soundcloud | Bandcamp
I see, some kind of intelligent/macro sequencer. Seems like a lot of work.
While I am generally very interested in microcontroller coding I found out that it is just another distraction from just making music so I try to stick with the modules other people came up with :)
Anyway, best luck with your project!

solitud.de | YouTube | Soundcloud | Bandcamp
Looks good, but as always, there should be some more VCA?
Interested how you will do the Euroduino sequencer, with only two knobs and 8 sockets ...
solitud.de | YouTube | Soundcloud | Bandcamp
Great idea, this is the start of a new trent. I see the double sided racks hitting the stores very soon!
solitud.de | YouTube | Soundcloud | Bandcamp
A-155 is a cv/gate sequencer with the possibility to generate additional triggers.
The Rack does look like fun, but you are lacking at least a VCA. Also I always like a Quantizer like the A-156 behind the sequencer.
solitud.de | YouTube | Soundcloud | Bandcamp
First thing, I think you have made a good decision to go modular. Beside being horrendous expensive and a huge time hog it is also very rewarding.
I don't know every one of your chosen modules but overall the selection looks good for FX.
I think sooner or later you want to have some oscillators and filters too. After all the modular should work as a synth too?!
solitud.de | YouTube | Soundcloud | Bandcamp
Funny what is considered "Budget" these days.
I am interested in Pultec style EQs. Can you recommend the Analog Allstars? Other options in DIY?
solitud.de | YouTube | Soundcloud | Bandcamp
How do one cut off 1 HP? You have great tools for sure!
solitud.de | YouTube | Soundcloud | Bandcamp
Hey Ginko,
ModularGrid has an advanced search now where you can define to exclude DIY modules. Probably somethings wrong with your default settings. Try to click reset or click on the Show advanced search options link in the search form.
solitud.de | YouTube | Soundcloud | Bandcamp
We have sorted this out. The module didn't show up in the search results but on papernoises profile page.
That was not a bug but an intended behavior, because private and duplicate modules historically share the same tag.
Nevertheless I have uploaded a patch where private/duplicate modules are hidden on users profile pages now.
Also private module pages have received a robot noindex meta tag to exclude them from search engines.
As long as private modules are not assigned to public racks they should be pretty much stealthy now.
You can still link to them so we are not talking about bulletproof protection, though.
solitud.de | YouTube | Soundcloud | Bandcamp
Hm, the private tagging was always one of the more reliable features on MG and I can not see a problem now.
When I am searching for the modules name I can not find anything. As expected.
Also nothing leaked to Google.
Be careful: if people visit your public rack with the private module assigned they can see the private module. This is intended and not a bug.
So for now there is not much I can do else than keep an eye on the issue. And to recommend not to upload top secret modules. Sorry.
solitud.de | YouTube | Soundcloud | Bandcamp
Only private modules you uploaded yourself will show up in YOUR search result.
If you see private modules of other users in your search result you have found a bug. Please report.

The new search options hide other/unknown modules by default.
Click Hide advanced search options -> Show exotic modules a.k.a. "other/unknowns"
Maybe there is some tweaking necessary...
