I'm Wiktorion, or Viktor which is my real name.

I live in Sweden where I run a small art studio called Studio Odessa.

I've been dabbling with modular synthesizers since I was 18. That might sound like I'm old in the game, but I'm 23 years old, so many of you are far more experienced than I! :) I've got a dreaming, hazy mind, which colours everything in my environment, especially my music; I make Electronic Shoegaze, or Dream Pop(www.soundcloud.com/vpilkington).

I also dream about modulars constantly, hypothetical systems and configurations, which has lead me to different modular system planners.

A friend told me about Modulargrid and I was instantly hooked! This is where I can see all the latest modules and plan my dream systems, or calculate power needs for my current one. I've also been trusted by head honcho Knut to keep the module library clean of gunk and duplicates, and also to keep the forum nice and tidy. Looking forward to finally get to meet you all (I've been oogling at your systems, you know!)

I'm John Noble, and modular synths changed my life. I run The Eurorack Database ( http://eurorackdb.com ), the Fully Patched Music series of modular/experimental/analog music events in the San Diego area ( https://www.facebook.com/fullypatchedmusic ), I make some custom synth stuff like modules and cases, and I perform & record solo with my Eurorack modular as "prettyhowtown" ( http://aprettyhowtown.bandcamp.com/ ) and as a member of a couple of other projects. I also seem to have turned into a festival promoter. Life is getting really weird, and I like it that way. :-)

I might as well introduce myself as well. My name is Jesse and I've been obsessed with the eurorack format for a little over 3 years now. Though I've ogled over modular systems in the past, almost everything I did has been "in the box" with Ableton, Reaktor, etc. Everything started to align once I paid attention to eurorack beyond the original Doepfer and Analogue Systems lines. Of course, that was 3 years ago, and what's available now in the format just is insane! I've gone from a room full of monosynths and gear like the monomachine and nord g2 to an almost all modular setup. (Can't get rid of the machinedrum!)

I'm so glad Modular Grid now has a forum, as I have spent countless hours using this site to re-arange my system, plan new purchases, and generally just get excited with new modules appearing almost every day. Solitud has created a wonderful and intuitive environment to explore this stuff.

I will be one of the moderators here, along with Wiktorian and Solitud.

I would vote for a less format-specific approach myself - otherwise it will surely end up as an euro forum and the barely relevant others on the sidelines. So I am not sure how much I will contribute here, but I wish you good luck anyway.

I've only been into modulars for a few months, but have been into music production for nearly 15 years. I'm based in NYC, and really enjoy spending my rent money on eurorack modules.

Hi, Pyscheprog here, just want to say this place looks like I could feel at home. Really just finding out what modular synths are about lately eh, have also been using Reason for a while now and love being in the synth world, I do have some hardware and va synths.
I was looking at getting into modular synths :-) and I found this site!! I hope to gain some invaluable knowledge here and put it to good use! I also have started building a rack and hopefully I'm going the right way :-)

So yeah, hi everybody. This is a great a place to be, thanks a lot for creating it!

I am into modular synthdom since 2015 09 and happened on MG while searching the web for info on modular/eurorack.
After starting out on a Yamaha CX5m a looong time ago I fiddled with VST the last couple of years.
I was really taken by the combination of several emulations of the Synthi AKS/VCS 3 and Audio Mulch's Metasurface.

However the mouse is a poor interface for a synth so I began to eye modular hardware and quickly zoomed in on eurorack.
After about half a year of research I decided to build a small eurorack from cardboard and a bunch of used modules I had pieced together. Now I have 6Ux84 and guess what -- no space left! Does that make me a typical wiggler?

Anyway, so far I am enjoying the ride even though the move from all digital/total recall to analog and volatile/momentary was quite the culture shock =0 I learned a lot during the past months, reading up, hunting modules - and most importantly, using them - and MG helped a great deal, so thanks again!

Currently I am researching options to organize the lovely noises I create into meaningful sequences, so a clock divider and a knob recorder are on my radar. I am also very interested in the art of modular live improvisation and controllers other than keyboards.

I have worked in the box for most of the last ten years. I had a good year and decided it was worth an investment in modular gear. I fell into the rabbit hole and filled out my starter travel case.

My ambitions are to expand and redesign the classic Roland and Moog sounds within my own rack. The Ripples module has really hit done it for me. MMF from SSF is another, this PING business is interesting.

Now if only I can wrap my head around Gates/Triggers and Unipolar or Bipolar and what it means to my output.
Sometimes, I do appreciate the engineering of a synth like a Juno-106, Moog Minitaur, or even Digital Synths like a D-50.

Hope to get to know all of you better.

I'm still in highschool so I don't really earn Money yet, but I ve been fascinated by Synthesizers for quite a while now and already own some non-modular stuff . Currently I'm looking for a job I as a minor can do and earn some money to spend on modules, a lowcost case (probably 6U) and just start it. Of course I already did some research online how to get into modular, watched Molten Music, Tuesday Night Machines and similar channels to get myself educated a bit. I came here to get some more personal advice, this community is always called nice and cooperative. I really like many genres of electronic music (and can't decide where to go with the modular) . As an introduction I'm planning to invest into a Kastle by Bastl Instruments. Do you approve of that?

I have long been busy in the music but now only as an amateur. I only just discovered the modular synths.
The complexity and complete openness of the system and what you can do with it, draws me to it I guess.
Although I love challenges, I think this one will be a serious learning curve. And since I am in my middle forties, it all tends to go a little bit more slow than twenty years ago.....This might be the start of my midlife....
Are there events around modular in Belgium or neighbouring countries?

First of all, I want to express thanks to all the people involved in running Modulargrid, this helps me (and others, for sure) to plan and sort out all the modular things. You guys rock!

Also, I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Oleg and I am running a German-based experimental project, which creates music by the process of conducting jam sessions, improvising during these sessions, recording them, and then using best parts from those sessions to generate so called "Jam session sections"; these are generally raw sound clips that are mostly left unprocessed apart from using a simple cross-fade in order to tie two or more clips together, or occasional compressing. These clips then are uploaded to Soundcloud and are usually free for download.

I am fairly new to Eurorack and (like yours) my rack is slowly but constantly growing, so that I am able more and more to use solely Eurorack modules, for example the latest upload:

Since I have a lot to learn, I would love to receive constructive criticism. You don't have to follow me or like my uploads, but I'd encourage you to leave a comment, especially if you have suggestions for improvement!

I've been playing experimental music solo and in bands for about 10 years now and looking for advice. I'm going to post a thread in the Racks forum and go into more detail about what I'm thinking about, but basically I'd say I'm looking to create both "sci-fi" kind of sounds and more harsh textures.

Hi everyone, I'm Ryan, from Pittsburgh. I first discovered modular via a Buchla 200 series in grad school, and finally had enough savings ~6 years later to start building my own (not Buchla). Still looking to expand and get a better case, but I'm starting to get a good sense of what I want my modular to be and why.

Music is more of a hobby right now, but I'm trying to find a project to work the modular into. In the meantime, you can hear some of my 'studies' on my YouTube channel.

Also, shout out to the modular community here, and on reddit, and elsewhere. The openness and understanding of the people I've encountered online is often uplifting and helpful, and is half of why I love this instrument. I wish other parts of life were so kind.

I am Garfield Modular, pretty new into synthesizers, since about February 2019 (listening at synthesizer's music since about early 1980's), but wow what did I got hooked up with this new fantastic hobby. Almost every day and night busy with it, since early this summer I got finally a Eurorack system, now I am getting even less sleep and even more hooked up with the modular stuff!

One big enjoyment :-)
