I understand the differences between ring mods and VCAs and the way they respond to voltage and polarity. I'm familiar with their similar sounds, but I want ring mods for their inverted signals.
You can get the same sort of result by feeding two AF signals into a VCA via AM.

what is an AF signal?
are you referring to mimicking ring modulation with amplitude modulation?
what are the three jacks at the bottom?
would it be possible to make the VCAs switchable to ring mods?
Mounting it upside down doesn't eliminate the separated outputs. I actually already mount most of the modules in the bottom and middle rows of my 9U upside down to group jacks.

Need:
clock divider of some sort; perhaps QCD, RCD, G8
MIDI interface: Kenton stuff for syncing modular to MIDI gear; or Hinton Gearbox for syncing both ways (modular to hardware, hardware to modular)
