That's concerning. I was thinking about getting one, as I liked the liquid-y sounds I heard in the demo. So it's isolated just to Mutable -> Mutable patches? Once you add something imMutable (sic) it works just fine?
Really interested in the Erica Synths Pico series of modules. I just saw this demo video over at Perfect Circuit Audio and it looks like an awesome little system. Any know when these start shipping, and whether there will be a discount on a complete system or not?
Ben, these already exist. When adding a new module, first check if it exists by selecting DIY and Assembled as well as click the Show exotic modules box. That should show you everything in the module database.
Sometimes the "Assembled/DIY" search filter will change its state for some reason (maybe a bug in MG), so certain projects won't appear in the results.

So when in doubt, always assume a module has been added previously. It usually has. If it's more of a DIY or lesser known module, make sure you select DIY AND ASSEMBLED as well as show exotic modules. :)

i dont know how you would know when buying. BTW i have some modules FS including the Pittsburgh Modular Outs which does stereo headphone amp and dual mono for mono or stereo connection to a mixer

I replaced the older maths with the newer version. Also, I got rid of the LxD on your suggestion and added the nano rand by qubit (assuming that is the module you were talking about.
About the sequencing - I am thinking of starting with a Arturia Beatstep Pro as it seems to have many output options (MIDI, CV, Gate, & USB). In the future I am thinking about possibly getting a sequencing module like the metropolis by Intellijel or a combo of the pressure points and Rene, both my make noise. Any other suggestions on sequencing would be fantastic unless I am covering all bases with what I have. Last thing,is the Yarns necessary if I am planning to get the beat step pro? It has CV/Gate outs that I could utilize making me think that getting the Yarns would be overkill/redundant.
Also, I want to find a way to sequence my modules using ableton clips for future live performance. I think expert sleepers makes something for DAW connectivity. What other options would you suggest?

You might consider your vca/lpg sources. Seems like a high amount. (VCA: 1 in the Atlantis, 1 in Braids, 2 in the uVCA, 4 LPG channels)
You could drop the LXD and get a nice random source, such as the qubit or ??
Also the newer Maths might offer some great extras for you in a small system with it's extra mixed outputs and getable cycling.
I assume you're doing all of the sequencing with MIDI?

Now I only have 2x84 rows left. Those are the two top-most of this rack. The remaining rows are just place holders for modules I have on the shelf (for sale or for swapping with others in my rack).
I've experienced similar problems with the Synthrotek Deluxe Power. The influx capacitance of the WMD dual VCA by itself is too much for the power supply to handle. It won't run properly with that module plugged in by itself. I also have intermitten issues with the Deluxe Power behaving as if I'm drawing too much power, but I've checked the voltage and I'm way under capacity. The USB power slot shorts out the system, not matter how small the power draw. Customer service hasn't been much help either.
No clue. I patch clouds and it through my mother 32 and it sounds great. Using only mutable modules, I can barely hear it. Glad I didn't sell it, but not what I expected.

This is my actual setup, except it is in several separate skiffs, and the Mother 32 is in its case still. I am building the actual case and consolidating all 4 x 104HPs...My other Rack (Alice Copy) is where I am contemplating new gear for a later period...
I bought most of the gear within a 2-month period. I live in Sweden (where there are no modular shops), so when I had a couple chances to visit Control in Brooklyn I took advantage of it. They were very helpful, especially seeing I was a relative newbie, and they talked me out of some bad ideas. I know synths pretty well, going back to he early 80's...but it was mostly integrated synths, not modules and some of the nuts and bolts of modular/analog...
I've had a lifelong fascination with synths and multi-generations of sound explorers...(Eno, Cluster, Kraftwerk, Throbbing Gristle, Aphex Twin, Squarepusher, Boards of Canada, Casino vs. Japan, Tricky, etc..)
I also have a Mini Korg MS-20, which I cannot patch into unless I get a voltage convertor like the English Tear. Additional gear includes an Eventide DSP 4000 Ultra-harmonizer for some fun effects, and an old Waldorf Microwave II rack module I bought new in 1997.
Couple contemplations....
Trying to be as computer free as possible....using Logic Pro for recording mostly now, and some plug ins....
Enjoy generally bizarre and unconventional devices...on the lookout for such...

When you go to your rack, cut-N-paste the url into the Muffwiggler post as a url.
I think if you paste anything that is a valid url (starts with https://www.) it will turn it blue when you look at "Preview" while you are writing your post. If it does turn blue then just clicking on it will open a browser window with your
modular showing proudly on the screen.

I'm completely new to this and have no idea how to post this rack to muffwigglers, where I hope to get some tips. Maybe I can get tips here???
Anyways, I own a Mother 32 and have a case and 4ms power on the way. I'm pretty set on the bottom row of modules (some are already on the way). I have money right now for one more module and I was hoping someone could help me choose one from the top row or maybe a different one altogether, to help expand the immediate modulation or sonic capabilities of the rack.
My goal with this case (and moving forward) is to create sequenced, pop-style(The Knife, BoC, Caribou) melodies. I love the sound of the moog model D and will eventually be grabbing at least one more AHJ VCO and whatever else I might need to capture that sound. I also want it to be more interesting than standard subtractive synthesis (which I'm quite comfortable with). I love going down the rabbit hole and ending up nowhere even close to where I intended.
I also have an MS20 (full size kit that I'm hoping to switch out for the module version as soon as I can find one), a bunch of foogers, an sq-1 and a drm1 MK3 that I will be integrating with the case.
Any suggestions are totally welcome.
I play in a fusion trio - guitar, keyboard, and drums. I am the guitarist. One of the biggest problems with not having a dedicated bass player is what to do when the keyboardist solos. Originally, I used a Boss octave pedal to play bass lines while the keyboardist improvised. That eventually became a Parker MIDI Fly with the MIDI sent to an Alesis Nano Synth. Then I discovered how badass an analog synth sounds for bass and I got a Moog Slim Phatty. However, as good as the sounds were, getting stuck MIDI notes and not having a free right hand to adjust sounds was a problem. Now I have this beast.
The 2 ADDAC foot controller pedals control the volume of 2 voices - each plugged into a separate channel on the Doepfer A-135-1. The first channel is for the low 2 strings on the guitar for when I want play a bass line and guitar chords simultaneously. The other for the top 4 strings for when I need more complicated bass lines or lead.
Each of my 2 voices is a combination of 3 sound sources. The Moog Mother 32s handle the big deep beefy square wave bottom end. The Roland 512 and the Mutable Instruments Rings add a percussive organ type sound 1 octave higher on top of the bass to give each note some clarity and character.
I have Yarns configured in 2M (2 channel mono) mode - so it outputs 2 separate V/Oct and gate signals. The MIDI coming into the Yarns originates from a Fishman Triple Play MIDI pickup on my guitar - the dongle for which is plugged into a tablet running MIDI Routing software that sends the right notes to the right channels.
I'm just now starting to explore all of the other options this rack gives me, because of the 3 sequencers and multiple clock sources. I'm having a ton of fun with this, and my live rig has never sounded better or more responsive. I firmly believe that every MIDI guitarist needs to look into modular rather than the typical sound modules most guitarists use.

that I would drive from here..

I finally realized that this my babybass rack.
at the moment is only the bass line .
I would like to take advantage of the audio inputs
to rehearse machines sounds perhaps in a sampler delay pitch shifter ..

This is very helpful. My rack has been growing from 6U to 12U and I'm going to need to think more about module placement. What you've suggested here is what I've also discovered for myself. Controllers lower left, oscillators/filters up top, effects down right (with output).
Not better or worse, but they all do sound different, even within the same category. That's why there are so many out there! And many have different functionality too, as people have said.
People really love the Dixie ii+ for example (as do I).
Complex oscillators and digital ones sound quite different, too. Check out a demo of the Loquelic Iteritas! Or Braids!
The Sub37 is an incredible synth, but it's not 100% the best for integration with a modular, mainly because of (a) it's form factor (it's big and it will be hard to fit it next to your modular); (b) its lack of CV out's; (c) its limited CV in's. It's neither modular nor semi-modular, so while it works great as a stand-alone synth, you can't really integrate most of its functions with the modular in a fully satisfactory way. Of course, you can use your Sub37 with your modular and I'm sure some people do--it's just not ideally suited for that use.
(Note: I have a Sub37, a Little Phatty, two Moog Mother 32s, and a growing modular.)
It really depends on what kind of music/noise/exploration you're trying to make and what you want to do. What would you use the Sub37 to do? That's the key question in terms of whether / how to integrate it.
You could get a Midi to CV module and use the Sub37 as a controller, but it's a pretty big controller and you may not be using much of the functionality of the Sub37. Are you going to have your modular in a case in front of you?
Personally, I find it easier to leave my Sub37 to the side (it's in a completely other part of my studio) and use it for other things. The Mother 32's on the other hand are perfectly designed as a way to get into Eurorack. They easily integrate into a modular set-up and are great value for money. They are small and can be put into a case with your other modules, or can sit to the side. To get a similar number of modules (sequencer, keypad, LFO, VCO, VCAs, mults) would cost a lot more. They can also work as a great extra oscillator for your Sub37 and have a MIDI-in.
So, I would also recommend that you consider getting a Mother 32 and seeing how you like it. You may end up selling the Sub37 or you may end up keeping it -- but probably for non-modular use, I would expect.

Looks fantastic! Wonderful, compact set-up. Looks to me like you have two voices (if you want them), tons of CV modulation possibilities, VCA's, etc for such a small set-up. It's fantastically well thought-through for such a small set-up and would have lots of possibilities.
If I were to add something, it would probably be in the way of controllers (a small sequencer, or a Pressure Points) and effects (delay/reverb/granular). That's just because 95% of what I do involves a sequencer and 100% of what I do involves effects/processing. A Disting mk3 might open up a lot of possibilities with such a small format like this.

Can anyone recommend a compact in and out module for my compact rig? Currently I'm going out to a tiny mackie mixer, but I'd like to have a stereo headphone output built in plus main stereo outs and also an instrument input for things like external synths like my Op1 or volca, or electric guitar or contact mics even. The input is really only for processing in clouds or patching sounds to the dual looping delay.
