Hi guys and gals! Vinnie Lee here.
I'm a producer and mixer for a small record company here in Beijing. And I'm also a guitarist. Been playing music for 14 years, and got my MS-20 Mini and SQ-1 not long ago. Trying to go modular, and happy to find a place like this!
I want to say thank you to everyone who works on this site, you did a great job! Keep on the good work!

Use blank panels to cover those empty spaces on your case, you don't want to stick your hands in it by accident and get shocked... For the dust, just use any cloth(cotton prefered, no static build up).

I discovered to not place sensitive modules like spring reverbs next to the modulars power supply. They pick up easily hum.
Also if you plan to include 5V modules it makes sense to place them in one row so you only need one of those adapter thingies.

Thanks for the information solitud!
BTW, do you think the power supply's magnetic field will affect the modules? I heard about that on some Youtube videos.

It will create some nice self evolving ambient sound.
I remembered this kind of process have a name(a guy said it on Youtube, but I forgot which video), what is it called, again?

Here my euro rack system, I got a Braids as macro oscillator, an MMG as filter, an useful Expert Sleepers disting (16 differet mode w this module), classic passive multiple from doepfer, delay and reverb from Audio Damage with an attenuator (Triatt Intellijel) a double LFO (Zone B.F. from Eowave) a classic ADSR from Doepfer, with a multifunction double VCA from Make Noise, as well I can process some audio from my external machines with the A-119 from Doepfer. My system is integrated with some external toys like Microbrute an MFB Tanzbar, and sequencer and midi to cv converter: Beatstep v1 and a ROTASYNTH an UK handmade synth with 8 step rota sequencer.

Hi people!

This is my first day here, and I want to just briefly share what brought me here.

I am dream of making a modular system capable of producing sounds like this:

I know this is the Buchla Music Easel. I've long thought about buying it. But if we leave it completely out of the picture and only focus on the sounds heard in these two links, what can kind of Eurorack can get me close to this (preferebly within the 6U scope)?

Is it possible you can share a rack template with me, just to get me inspired?

I appreciate your help!

/Patrick

Thanks, solitud! I've begun noting power requirements more closely.

Hello MG forum--I am, like some other beginners on the forum, not new to electronics or electronic music, but I am to the world of modular synthesizers. I am planning my first system now.

When I think of component placement in a vacuum-tube amplifier or in my various effects circuits, I avoid placing certain things near each other for various reasons (like keeping power wiring away from audio wiring in an amp, etc.).

• Are there modules that should not go near one another?
• Do some "not get along" when placed on the same bus in a rack?

I appreciate in advance any advice from you all!

cant remove it anymore :/

bought the Ken Stone Burst Generator, awesome unit. everything worked out perfect. Friendly communication.
Would buy anytime from @bachelard again, many thanks !

Sold a Ken Stone Burst Generator to @freespace. Quick payment, great communication. Great buyer!

Since Eurorack seems to get more popular, every month new manufacturers enter the market.

Some of them come up with amazing new designs. But many manufacturers just get their prototype working and never manage to turn it into a working product which people can actually buy.

Because all those Vaporware manufacturers would clutter up the database, we moderate the entries.
You cannot buy into the list.

the policy for a manufacturer listing on MG

Users must be able to buy your module and get it delivered now, not soon.

  • ideally you have at least 3 modules to sell in a store
  • or have ONE everybody talks about
  • no listing for manufacturers who produce designed blank panels only
  • no listing for manufacturers who produce Mutable Instruments clones only
  • no listing for manufacturers who produce mults only or other very basic designs

We have always the right to deny the entry.

new product launch

For technical reasons we cannot add a manufacturer to the list without having a module attached.
You have to upload the module always as “other/unknown” first.
If you check it as “unlisted” the module wont show up in other people browsers.
So you can prepare the module page shortly before you announce it.
You can upload an “enigma” photo if you are suspicious and do not want the image to leak.

Hi, aaaaaron,

As I see it, those two envelopes are not in use in this video. The connection must combine their output to whatever destination an additional cable might take them. (The possibility of additional cable comes from the yellow cable's stackable form.) It's the same as if they were both patched to an unbuffered mult, with nothing (yet) coming out of that mult.

This rack is designed to be a feature instrument, accompanying instrument and sound processor for external audio sources mainly other instruments like guitar.

A Barton Ciruits Guitar input (not pictured) and Analogue Systems RS-35 provides injection and interface between external instruments and the modular. Piston Homda mkII is capable of applying it's wave table to audio sources without any convertion to CV necessary. This eliminates any tracking errors and glitching, and enables a natural polyphonic practise of your instrument with no restrictions as you would normally enjoy. The RS-35 and Barton Circuits Guitar In allows you to control virtually any parameter of the modular as you play depending on how you play.

Anyone for a phat guitar?

Im not totally certain that the stand along uhc will self oscillate. I am not near my system at this time but I think that you can invert filter 2, take the notch out of filter 2 feed it into filter 1 input 2 and control the gain for self oscillation. Again, I am not certain of this.

I know that you can patch self oscillation with the uhc audio expander but those are not in production and rare.

Can this filter self-oscillate?

I'm trying to learn about modular synthesis. I'm interested in the monome stuff, and the patches in the demo videos.

In the meadowphysics video here: , it looks like one of the in/outs is reversed. The yellow patch cable is plugged into the outputs for 3 and 4, and it looks like the input for Trig 3 is being sent as an output somewhere.

What's going on with this? I read the Quadra manual, and it didn't say anything about this. Is it reversing the envelope or something?...

I bought a Low Gain Electronics SubMix from @armando.
Immediate delivery, perfect condition, and a nice guy!

Thanks from my side, too!

In my racks, I have already replaced the duplicate.
Unfortunately, someone (Roland_of_g) still uses it in one of his racks, so I can't delete it.

Sorry again for the confusion.

Bought a couple modules from @grieve with full satisfaction. Extremely prompt, modules well packaged, everything as expected. Would readily buy from @grieve again!

Could give a peek to Frames or Planar

Nice. Last night was a blast and a little frustrating at the same time. Completely different envelope format and the filters response to cv inputs seemed really sensitive to me. Nonetheless, I'm already thinking about more modules.

@hadj is a nice dude and great seller!!

Current Live performance system in 3-tier Tip Top Audio folding case.

This module is already in modular grid, should probably delete this entry

just got my expertly packed Elements from @Stjohn.good guy took care of the deal.

Big Voyager fan here. That was my first knobby analog synth, too.
I think you will love your new foundation, that is kind of another Voyager just with lots of wires!
Welcome to ModularGrid!

... and this is my Voyager Track :)

beautiful work my friend

well, you need a case with power distribution like this: http://www.schneidersladen.de/de/doepfer-mini-case-roh-raw-32te.html.
and probably a modulation source plus some kind of audio source...

Thread: ello gubna

I've been tweeting knobs since the early 90's, albeit digital knobs. Mostly korg, native instruments, and omnisphere. I couldn't figure the math out in my head why would I want to spend so much money on an analog synth. 3 months ago I bought my first analog synth in the form of a minimoog voyager. It was too sweet of a deal to pass up. The sonic skyline was the limit, or so it seemed. Not even a full week in with this beast I was quite shocked at how limitless the modulation possibilities were on the voyager. Still though, there was an ever growing inspiration each day I started tweaking the knobs.

Tonight when I get home there will be a package with 1 - p.m. foundation 3.1 On top of this I have a happy ending kit from tip top audio, and a DYI buffered multi on the way. I am looking forward to growing my sonic palette as well as with this community.

track from the voyager:

cheers

Ah, helpful! Thanks. :-)

To clear things up

  • You can delete modules if they are not assigned to any rack.
  • As an uploader you can always unlist them.

Hello

I d like to begin with modular synthesis and use minimal setup, based on MI clouds module

Is another module needed , as i will use ipad apps for FX and ableton for sequencing ?

Do i need something else or can it be used alone ?

Deleting seems to be something the site admin needs to do. Perhaps if you edit the title to include something like (DUPLICATE) in the title, it'll be noticed and purged. The site admin is pretty active in the Facebook group, or you might message him here. Good luck! :-)

You are right, obviously!
I don't understand, though, since I definitely searched for the module in the database (by name and by manufactorer!), before I added it.

Can I delete my entry? How?
