That new feature does more harm than good. I rolled all changes back.

In Rack view under Switch and in the command center the names are now sorted "naturally" instead by string.
was:
1. Rack 1
11. Rack 11
2. Rack 2
now:
1. Rack 1
2. Rack 2
11. Rack 11

The markdown editor in the forums has now a toolbar where you can set text bold, italic, set bullit lists and insert the markdown code for links and images in case you don't know where to find the square brackets []
on your keyboard.

The News from the Lab section has an updated design
When you select a Manufacturer via the Manufacturer Drop Box in the Module Finder an info block with related info will be shown
Since Twitter won't allow free access to their API anymore we have removed Twitter from the ModularGrid Modular News section :(

Modulargrid now supports the super affordable AE Modular format!

Fixed a small bug that prevented new manufacturers from posting news.
In the process accidently deployed a new feature were users can thumbs up forum posts.
A simple Thumbs Up function that lets you leave a thumbs up on a forum post.
Second click on the Thumbs Up button removes the Thumbs Up.
Narcists can thumbs up their own posts.

In the planner there are two new buttons that appear on hover to push one or more modules to the adjacent side.
This can also be used with shortcuts n and m.
The older shortcuts , and . to push only single modules still exist.
The button to flip modules is removed because I think that was not used enough and took too much space. The function is still there with shortcut f for flip.

Push entire row of Modules

in my opinion it would be better to close the remaining gaps with each push one by one with each click
your soulution removes all gaps at once
thx anyway

dudes, the rotate/flip fuction was essential.
the way it worked before was way better.
please put it back / make Rotate available.

I agree. Would prefer flip.
Also, it is more difficult to move 2-4hp modules around now. There is a very tiny space that you must grab.
Thanks for everything you do!
also, btw, regarding the Flip feature - the Keyboard Shortcut you mentioned doesn't apply to people who use their phones to access MG, which is what I do 99% of the time (and surely many others do as well).
please put it back like it was. thanks.
In the user preferences under https://www.modulargrid.net/e/users/view you find a new fieldset called Planner Menu Preferences. Here you can check which entries you like to see in the planner action menu. Options are Push Buttons and/or Flip Button.
You can select both but the space will be very narrow on slim modules.

I have seen terrible webserver performance lately. I found out the reason was a search engine spider that crawled all Similar Racks pages. That is a page with very hefty SQL queries and for that reason a CPU/memory hog.
Quick fix:
Similar Racks now is only accesible for users that are logged in. Thinking about changing it in a Unicorn only function...

There is something wrong with the Screenshot thing!
There is something wrong with the Screenshot thing!

maybe, but what??
it'll really help if you describe what's going wrong - not just "Houston, we have a problem!"
"some of the best base-level info to remember can be found in Jim's sigfile" @Lugia
Utility modules are the dull polish that makes the shiny modules actually shine!!!
sound sources < sound modifiers < modulation sources < utilities

Screenshot thing makes screenshots again, thanks for reporting!

Besides module images I never wanted to host user uploaded images on the server because of the potential trouble with backups and malware.
But users pointed out that in case of the marketplace it is very helpful to send images via the messenger to not disclose their private data/ email adresses early. So that is possible now. You can send one image per message.
The images are hosted on a Google Cloud Server. Because that service charges money for hosting and traffic the new feature is an Unicorn Only feature.
Since I have no idea how expensive it is in the long run the image upload is an experimental feature, so save any important images localy, because the data might vanish again.

The Richtext editor is now available in the marketplace section.
Ever noticed the small image icon in the top right of the Richtext editor? That used to insert the markdown syntax for images. Now it lets you upload images and they will be displayed inline in the forum texts and marketplace offers.
An experimental feature that might be reverted.
Let's start with image No 1, a must have for every modular user: my potted plant.

Modules now can be ordered by positive rail in the search.

The entire site and the screenshot server moved to a new faster server. It's now cloud everything 16 core/64GB RAM with SSDs and whatnot. All the server software (Linux, PHP, SQL, ...) was updated, we have a web firewall, the screenshot software was rebuild from ground. Still some hiccups here and there but overall it went well.
We lost the www in front of www.modulargrid.net. The site is now just modulargrid.net (as if anyone would ever notice).

A new unpopular feature that nobody asked for: I've limited the number of automatic watchers you can set for offers on the marketplace.
On the module detail pages is that button Notify me if someone offers this module for sale. Standard users can sign up for 5 module notifications, while Unicorn users can set up to 2500 watchers.
The reason for this is that the mail server has been blocked several times due to excessive traffic, causing important features such as user messaging and optin registration to stop working.
Beep, Bopp, Bleep: info@modulargrid.net
Yes, it is now possible to hide the cat to appear to tell you to Clean up the mess!
Find it in your user settings.

The Used Price History history on the marketplace includes now the median price. The median price ignores the very low and very high offers and could therefore represent the more realistic price. Unicorn feature.
Unicorn users can export/import their racks as json data
Beep, Bopp, Bleep: info@modulargrid.net
Bug Fix: the Median Price function now calculates the median and not some fantasy values.
