As in, are the tiny trim pots annoying to set and I'd be better off with the full size Rings?

One feature among many others, but I really like this one: noise (H-7 Noise). ‘If 'blended' is chosen, the noise color can be smoothly swept from violet to red with the Z knob/CV‘. This allows you to choose exactly your type of noise... Useful for random, texture, percs, etc.

I'm very happy with this setup, but I can't find a good use for my expert-sleeper design beyond using it as an effects processor. Any ideas?
There are two voices sequenced by O_C plus 3 percussion voices filtered by hp. Modulation and envelopes by Harlequin context and pam's.

alright after a while this is what i developed my setup is only deluge, minibrute 2s, o coast, disting mk4, diz, nlc this too shall pass and a triple hwr. so far I'm having a field day with what i got. I feel like I changed it for the better, and organized pretty optimally. so what do ya think, are these good accompaniments?
also the bottom section is potentially an add on for the top of the case, if I go through with it I'll be modifying the rackbrute 6u if I feel it's worth it.

On April 10th at around 12.00 CET ModularGrid and a Terabyte of Rack Screenshots will move to a new server. This will take a couple of hours. The website will be in "read mode", which means that rack planning will not work, but the modules should still be searchable. Downtime hopefully will be minimal. See you on the other side!

Hi all,

I have had quite a few issues with combining triggers from multiple clock sources. I had a lot of unwanted behavior for example by using a trigger Pamela's New Workout as a clock source and a trigger from Abstract Data's Octocontroller as a reset signal. The reset almost never "resets" a sequence since the reset trigger is always a few milliseconds before or after the clock trigger.
The cause seems to me is that some clock modules have a little more processing time than others. Makes sense.

Most of the time I try to avoid this problem by using clock and reset input from exactly the same source. However I tried to use a logic module combined with the third channel of Mutable Instruments' Grids (hat channel) and Pamela's New Workout (which directly clocks MI Grids).
Pams sends an offbeat trigger of a 1x pulse, 1% width and 50% phase, classic open hi-hat pattern. I want the hat pattern coming from grids as the closed hi-hat, but also the closed hat needs to choke (i.e. not be triggered) when the open hat is triggered.

So there are a lot of ways to do this, but my first thought would be: both hi-hat offset trigger and Grids' hat channel into logic module, set mode to exclusive or (XOR). This should only put out a trigger when only the open hi-hat is playing and Grids is not, or when only Grids if playing and the open hi-hat not. But since the triggers are not from the same source, there is still a trigger when both inputs are high but with a weird ratcheting effect.
I tried to change the width and phase of the output of Pams, but this even makes it weirder. The same when I use a trigger delay or function generator between Grids' output and the logic module to delay the trigger.

Its very difficult as well to see how far the two triggers are apart, since it's just milliseconds of difference.
How do you guys handle this issues?

Another EDU module from Erica Synths that I’ve built, this is their Hi Hat version 2,
Moderately difficult build for close component placement and soldering near other components, not a first kit.

It sounds really good, a very nice unit.

And as always with these modules, the manual (which you can download for free without buying the kit) is superior, a great practical guide to electronics for music.

When dealing with multiple browser windows for rearrangements all windows are doomed to use the same zoom level.
This is a bit tedious when dealing with one huge and one small rack.
As far as i know the browser zoom level is always the same for each (sub)domain.

@modulargrid can you try to add a 2nd subdomain which serves the same site (like www2.modulargrid.net ) to allow different zoom levels?
Or will this break the copy paste functionality?
In case you give it a try dont forget to set canonical meta tags and disable site indexing.

Now I've got this going I think it's a really nice little sequencer.
Great feature set, with the triggers and step length control.

...but without a fix it wouldn't run, the input on the op amp where the clock comes in had been left floating by the designer and with a genuine TL072 the clock in stops functioning as charge builds up. Added 3M3 resistor to ground (back of board) and it comes to life. (probably with a cheap "fake" op amp the problem does not manifest, lower input impedance)
Voltage range of out put is 0-10V, so needs to be used with an attenuator. (I added voltage divider on output for 0-5V)
There's no protection against reverse connection, no 100n caps near the op amps for stability...but it works.

It doesn't go far into the audio range, and timing on the CV lags the clock, imperceptably but enough to confuse one of my quantisers (some quantisers have a setting for this reason)

Easy build and the only special component is the rotary switch.

I don't know if I would consider this rack "Berlin School". However this is not a bad synth. The Erica edu vco is missing sync which is an important function, so mabey add a syncable vco. Plaits does pretty much everything but mabey not very Berlin School. But who cares, you can absolutely make this setup sound good. I see you have two sequential switches, do you need two ?

The SEM dual filter is a very good choice, but the fixed filter bank i didnt like when i had it, i found it to be pretty much useless but that's just me.

Nice. I only had one for a bit, but I liked it a lot and still use the samples. One of the cooler little "try it randomly and see what happens" boxes.

Inexpensive and loads of fun! Remarkably you can clock you entire modular from it, or it'll take external clock - here's it's clocked by a USTA with some light swing. The bass drum on the other channel comes from an FXAidPro 808 BassDrum transformation of an incoming ADDAC TNetworks kik. What's very cool about the FXAidPro is it takes incoming CV to tune the bassdrum for melodic bass-lines - here it's sequenced by a Rene.

**Berlin school oriented rack. **

The idea is to make a square rack of practical dimensions, 60 by 66 approx. Cable distances are then manageable. Below each row there will be approx 2 cm space for horizontal cable guides not to have too much wiring in front of knobs.
In the middle of the rack on row 2 and 3, there is space left for vertical cable guides as well as multiples.
At the back of the rack will be 4 MIDI I/O: 2 for the Disting EX, 2 for the NTS-1. The power supplies will be on the back.

Row 1: 2 old school sequencers.
Row 2 : EDU synth from Erica Synths, with a 3rd simple sequencer. O&C for the sequencer quantizing
Row 3 : Sound path 2nd synth: oscillators going into mixer, filters, VCA
Row 4: Modulators for gate and CV at the left, including matrix mixer. Filter bank + built in NTS-1 at the right

Apart from the 2 main sequencers and the maxtrix mixer the rest is already in house.
The NTS-1 can serve as a 3rd synth (the Disting even as a 4th) , but is rather meant as FX box.
I do have a Minibrute 2S, a B2600, Model D and a Kobol apart from this, so I'm not running out of oscillators.

I'll need to built the rack myself (especially as I want cable guides both horizontal and vertical).
What may I be missing?

If I add 4HP in width, I may add a matrix mixer:

If you look at row 2 of the patchbay, you'll find outputs VCO1, VCO1 SUB1 and VCO1 SUB2 (same for VCO2 on row 4). These are pre-mixer, so straight from the oscillator and divider for the subs. From the SBH mixer, the signal goes into the filter and vca. This means you can patch those outputs, mix, modulate and filter them externally. If you don't wont VCO1 and SUBS to go into the SBH's own filter and vca: close the mixer pots so only VCO2 and SUBS go into the filter and have SBH's EG applied to the VCF and/or VCA.

I was wondering if I had another dual envelope module, would I be able to use that for osc.1 while using the subharmonicons AD generator for osc.2 without it affecting osc.1, or would I have to send both osc.1 and 2 out to the other envelope for that to work. My hope is to be able to have a bass drone coming from osc.1 and something more plucky from osc.2. I would also like to do this with the DFAM to really open up the possibilities. I was thinking of getting the 4ms dual envvca to achieve this with both osc.2's from the sub and DFAM going to it and having my pachinko trigger them, but I want to make sure that this will work before I spend the money. I have scoured the internet and watched hours of videos on these two synths at this point and have yet to see anyone doing this, which makes me wonder if it can be done, and if I might be crazy for even considering it. Sorry if this question has an easy answer, but I am still relatively new to this. Any help on this would be much apprieciated.

I am currently looking to build this rack in a NANO Modules CAIXA 104 case.

Now I want to add some nice effects, as I want to create a more orchestral, soft synth sound.
I would mainly use it to be sequenced in the background of my Live set.

I would suggest the 4ms Tapographix delay, or even the Dual Looping delay (and use the feedback send to alter the original signals ?)

Has anyone else had issues with the sensitivity of the touch pads on the Swarm? It only registers about 1 in 3 touches for me in use, unless I lick my fingers.

This is a sketch for building my first eurorack. I already have the Brains, and i also have a Behringer 2600. Im using the Arturia Keystep pro for playing/sequencing and a SP-404 mk2 for drums/samples, and I also hve a Prophet Rev2, that i mainly use for pads etc.
I would love to hear your feedback on this setup and whether i should add/remove/replace anything.
